A significant financial bombshell has hit the golf world, as the numbers are in, revealing a stark contrast between Jon Rahm on the LIV Golf tour and Scottie Scheffler on the PGA Tour, at least concerning disclosed earnings. Between October 2025 and September 2026, Rahm received an incredible $26.65 million from LIV Golf – a sum primarily attributable to PPA contracts, not tournament prize money.
To be precise, it was $26,648,787.18 within this 12-month period. The largest single payment of $6,199,739.90 landed in his account on October 3, 2025, followed by four additional installments of approximately $4.946 million each. Only a comparatively small portion, namely $663,333, was recorded as pure prize money. That's quite a haul the Spaniard has secured.
The Rahm Reality: Cash Before Course?
The irony of the story: LIV Golf reportedly still owed Rahm an additional $7.5 million when the league entered creditor protection. Rahm, however, waived these claims to effect a 'complete economic walk-away.' What Scheffler earned during the same period with his PGA Tour dominance and endorsements cannot be directly compared using these documents. Scheffler never competed in LIV, so a direct, apples-to-apples comparison is missing.
LIV 2.0 and Rahm's Departure
The drama surrounding Rahm continues: His lawyer recently made it clear that the Spaniard will not be part of the planned LIV 2.0 version. The deadline for players to commit to the restructured league is October 25, 2026. Given the millions he has already collected, this decision is likely no great sacrifice for Rahm.
