The chase for the 2027 DP World Tour Card was a nail-biter until the very last putt. With the regular season finale at the Genesis Championship in South Korea on October 25th, the stakes were set: only the top 100 in the final Race to Dubai Rankings would secure full playing rights for next season – a significant reduction from the previous 110 cards. This means less room, more drama.
The Grandstand Finish
What an incredible performance Yuto Katsuragawa delivered with his victory at the Genesis Championship! He started at 106th place but, with the triumph, shot up 78 spots to 28th. This not only earned him the Tour Card but also a spot in the Playoffs. The ultimate heart-stopping moment was provided by Sean Crocker: He snatched 100th place, the last highly coveted slot, with a back-nine of 29 strokes, including four consecutive birdies. He was on the verge of losing his card – a truly sensational round that saved his season. David Law also held onto 99th place, despite a missed cut, thanks to an eleven-week grind to stay in contention.
For those in places 101 to 110, there's only conditional membership for 2027, while ranks 111 to 125 fall into an even lower priority category. And for the top 10 in the Race to Dubai who don't yet have an exemption, a PGA Tour Card for 2027 even beckons – things are really looking up for them.
The 2027 Lineup is Set
The illustrious list of the top 100 is led by true heavyweights like Eugenio Chacarra, Patrick Reed, Rory McIlroy, Casey Jarvis, Aaron Rai, Ryan Fox, and Daniel Hillier. But it got particularly tight right at the cut-off: Marco Penge at 97, Matteo Manassero at 98, David Law at 99, and Sean Crocker as the ultimate last-minute hero at 100th. Every single one fought for their dream.
