What a finish at the AIG Women's Open 2026! Nerves were frayed as Shiho Kuwaki and Esther Henseleit dueled for the title in a playoff. Henseleit had previously delivered a spectacular 45-foot birdie on the 18th just to make it into the playoff. But in the end, Kuwaki claimed the victory on the second extra hole, after Henseleit's tee shot went out of bounds.
Hull and Woad: A Missed Major Title Opportunity?
While Kuwaki was able to lift the trophy, Charley Hull and Lottie Woad were left with a bitter taste. Both finished the tournament tied for sixth place, just four shots off the lead. While that sounds impressive at first, for golf icon Laura Davies, it was a "missed opportunity" for a first Major title. The door was open, as leader Yealimi Noh ran out of steam on the final holes – but neither Hull nor Woad could fill the void and launch a decisive attack.
The leaderboard was also incredibly tight among the ranks behind the top two. Yealimi Noh finished in third place, while golf superstars like Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul shared fourth. So, things really heated up on the course until the very end.
