FedEx St. Jude: Homa & Harman Sweating Over BMW Champ!

The air is getting thin on the course: The FedEx St. Jude Championship is no walk in the park, but a cutthroat fight for the highly coveted tickets to the BMW Championship. Only the top 50 in the FedExCup standings will advance – the rest are out. This is where it's decided who gets to keep the dream of the final alive.

The tension is electrifying, as even big names are feeling the pressure. Brian Harman and Max Homa are fighting for survival on Tour. At the same time, players like Jordan Spieth and Sungjae Im are pushing forward with really strong rounds, dramatically improving their position.

Battle for the Top 50

After two rounds, it's clear: The bubble zone around 50th place is a real minefield. While Keith Mitchell, showing strong nerves, is projected to 45th place, Max Homa is sweating over his advancement with a projected 52nd place – that would be elimination. Other golfers like Maverick McNealy, Harris English, or Eric Cole are also dangerously close to the brink and hoping for a stellar round over the weekend.

The Week's Movers

But there are also winners in these thrilling interim standings. Sungjae Im catapults himself with an unparalleled performance to 36th place in the projections, Jordan Spieth to 44th. But the biggest surprise move comes from a young gun who is making the established stars sweat.

Following the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings will advance to next week’s BMW Championship. Through two rounds, three players are projected to move inside the top 50: Sungjae Im, Jordan Spieth, Sudarshan Yellamaraju

Sudarshan Yellamaraju, just 25 years young, really turned it on Friday, firing an impressive 5-under 65. With this, he not only plays in the tournament's top 10 but also rockets up to 49th place in the FedExCup standings. This move could secure him a ticket to the BMW Championship and shows: In golf, anything is possible. The finale in Memphis promises to be a spectacle full of emotion and close decisions!
