This Saturday was anything but ordinary for Sepp Straka: With an incredible 64 on the legendary Old Course in St Andrews, he catapulted himself from 52nd place directly into a tie for seventh, now fully in contention for the title. A sensational round that has brought the Austrian within striking distance of the lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
Straka Poised to Strike
After three rounds, Straka stands at 13-under par, five shots behind leader Casey Jarvis from South Africa. This places him not only in the top 10, but also right on the heels of the leader's closest pursuers, Niklas Nørgaard and Jacob Skov Olesen (both 14-under). Straka will tee off with the two Danes on the final day: tee time is at 11:08 AM local time (12:08 PM CET).
Sunday Showdown
Sunday promises to be a real battle. To secure the victory, Straka will definitely need a low final round and some help from the players at the very top. This is, by the way, Straka's first time competing in this Pro-Am event, which is played across the iconic courses of St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns. His brother Sam was his partner, and the duo finished 48th as a team. However, the chance for a solo triumph is still alive – a thrilling finale is guaranteed!
