The caddie carousel is once again spinning wildly on the PGA Tour, and the first big moves before the final fall events are a real statement. Of all people, US Open Champ and world number 5, Wyndham Clark, is having his brother Brendan Clark caddie for him this week – a family affair for the VidantaWorld Mexico Open.
Clark returns to a place he already knows from 2022 and 2023. But while Clark's family interlude is likely just a one-week gig, Ben Griffin drops the real bombshell: After an incredible 2025 season, in which he secured three wins and even catapulted himself onto the US Ryder Cup team, he is parting ways with Alex Ritthamel.
New Partners On Board
Griffin brings a true heavyweight caddie on board: Jon Yarbrough, who most recently caddied for Phil Mickelson on LIV Golf and before that spent a decade alongside Scott Stallings. This is no one-week stand, but a serious statement for a new partnership, whose long-term status is still up in the air.
Both Clark and Griffin are, of course, in the field and teeing off at the VidantaWorld Mexico Open. Clark is grouped with Tom Kim and defending champion Brian Campbell, while Griffin will play his round with Andrew Novak and Joel Dahmen.
The Caddie Market Boils Over
These changes are just the tip of the iceberg in a caddie market that is truly boiling over. Players are re-evaluating their partnerships, and experienced caddies are cheerfully moving back and forth between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Besides Clark and Griffin, there are other reshuffles that show how dynamic this area of professional golf is. Griffin's move to Yarbrough is definitely the one making the biggest waves.
