For its 100th anniversary, Dalmahoy is set to celebrate in 2027 by hosting the Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship, undoubtedly its biggest drive yet. From August 31st to September 3rd, 2027, the tournament will be the absolute highlight of the centennial celebrations, proving that this historic venue is far from being a relic of the past. This truly is a statement that will significantly impact the golf calendar.
The event is not just any tournament, but the centerpiece of the grand anniversary festivities. Craig Waddell, Dalmahoy's Director of Golf, emphasized that the Championship is the absolute focal point of an already packed program. If that's not a commitment to golf!
Where Legends Kissed the Green
The course at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club is no stranger to the Scottish PGA Championship circuit. The tournament was first played here in 1931, and also returned between 1981 and 1985, and in 1993. Names like Brian Barnes, Bernard Gallacher, and Scottish icon Sam Torrance, who claimed his fifth title here in 1993, adorn the long history of the course. A true Hall of Fame in its own right!
The Tartan Tour Calls
Following its return in 2024, when Graeme Robertson secured victory by six strokes, another highlight awaits in 2027. As the flagship event of the Arnold Clark PGA in Scotland Tartan Tour, the Ramsdens Currency Scottish PGA Championship will once again attract top professionals to its fairways in 2027. Whether the Scottish elite will answer the call of history and compete on this iconic green remains to be seen, but the anticipation is already immense. What a spectacle awaits us next year!
