The goal is clear: Sandy Scott wants to compete for Europe in the 2027 Ryder Cup – an ambitious statement that feels within reach after his remarkable late-season ascent to the PGA Tour. The young Scot has catapulted himself into the ranks of professional golfers in record time, making his intentions clear from the start.
A Run That Delivers
What Scott has delivered in recent weeks has been incredibly strong: He secured two victories on the Korn Ferry Tour and finished the season in a sensational second place on the points list. With his most recent results – fourth, second, first, and first – he catapulted himself to 88th in the Official World Golf Rankings. This not only places him alongside Bob MacIntyre in the world's top 100 but also opens doors to the Majors and major PGA Tour events for 2027.
2027 Ryder Cup: More Than Just a Dream?
Scott himself describes this ascent as „amazing“ and „surreal,“ but he sees it only as motivation, not an endpoint. For him, a spot in the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, which would also mark the event's centenary, is absolutely achievable. He has already gained experience in team match play, having competed in the Walker Cup for Great Britain & Ireland and the Palmer Cup for Texas Tech. The foundation is therefore laid.
Now he must quickly prove himself on the PGA Tour and continue to climb the rankings. But one thing is clear: alongside MacIntyre, Sandy Scott will be one of the two Scottish players on the PGA Tour from 2027 – and with this drive, he could indeed shape the next generation for Europe at the Ryder Cup.
