Scott Celebrates 100th Major: The Best Is Yet to Come!

Listen up, folks! Adam Scott, the living legend, is on the verge of making his 100th major start at this year's PGA Championship. And as if that weren't impressive enough: It's his 99th consecutive major! But the man isn't just looking to fill the record books; he's showing that he's far from finished.

The 45-year-old Aussie, who missed the cut at the 2000 Open Championship, then finished 47th at the 2001 Open Championship – and hasn't missed a single major since! A truly incredible streak that is unparalleled.

Scott himself? He's taking it all remarkably calmly. "My head still tells me I should be winning these things and contending. Maybe that's why I don't look at it as such an achievement," the maestro said about his streak and 100th major start. He still deserves a pat on the back, but his ultimate goal is clear: "I'd still like to win." That's the mentality of a champion!

Currently ranked 43rd in the world and with his sole major triumph at the 2013 Masters under his belt, Scott now needs a top-60 finish after the major showdown at Aronimink. Only then can he qualify for the US Open and maintain his incredible streak of 100 consecutive majors. A lot is at stake! Incidentally: Only legend Jack Nicklaus had more endurance, with an unbelievable 146 consecutive major starts from the 1962 Masters to the 1998 US Open. That just shows you the league Scott is playing in.

"I don't know what to make of it," Scott admits. "Part of me doesn't want to be that guy who is all about other things than winning events. I'd rather win a few things and then we celebrate the US Open win, rather than just being there." Straight talk from the Aussie! He admits that luck plays a role, but above all, he has surrounded himself with top advisors. They've kept him so fit physically and in training that he's been able to play virtually injury-free. No aches, no pains to prevent him from teeing it up this week. Things are going well for him!

Last week at Doral? Scott delivered his first bogey-free weekend since 2007 and claimed fourth place – his season-best, which he had already achieved in Riviera in February. This run of form is really strong!

"To win a major, I have to deliver for four days, not just one weekend where I'm coming from behind," Scott analyzes bluntly. He feels his game is there and is doing everything to be in top form. "I want to take that confidence with me and hopefully arrive at the PGA Championship with full power. Four good days, and you just never know!" The drama is palpable.

His last of 14 PGA Tour victories dates back to 2020 in Riviera, and his first professional win was in 2001 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa. But hey, that's golf history that counts!

"Thanks
