Sei Young Kim: Eagle! Leads at FM Championship

Sei Young Kim absolutely dominated the opening round of the FM Championship at TPC Boston, setting a new standard for major vibes. With a bogey-free 8-under 64, Kim confidently seized the lead on Thursday, showing the competition who's boss.

What a spectacular round! Kim delivered a breathtaking performance. Her late charge, especially, highlighted by a chip-in eagle on the par-5 seventh hole, was truly cinematic. Over six holes, she played six under par, with four birdies and the aforementioned eagle. Her putting? Extremely strong, requiring only 24 putts to get the ball into the hole. This performance propels her to the top, one stroke ahead of Miyu Yamashita and Emily Kristine Pedersen, both of whom opened with a 65. Kim seems to be on a mission this year. After almost ten months without an LPGA win – her last triumph being the BMW Ladies Championship – and a third-place finish last week at the CPKC Women’s Open, this round looks like a real statement.

The FM Championship, held on the challenging par-72 layout of TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts, demands everything from the players. Yet, Kim seems perfectly suited for this course. The Australian contingent, including Karis Davidson, is still within striking distance at 2-under, while Grace Kim and Cassie Porter began the tournament with a round of 72.
