MacIntyre & Tom Kim Rise; Straka Top DACH Golfer

The latest OWGR list has stirred up the golf world this week: Robert MacIntyre and Tom Kim celebrate significant jumps, while Sepp Straka firmly maintains the top position in the DACH region. Scottie Scheffler remains the undisputed World No. 1, but below him, there have been some powerful moves that have thoroughly shaken up the ranking. For us in the German-speaking world, this is exciting news from the top tiers.

Robert MacIntyre, in particular, has made a significant leap forward, climbing from 21st to 18th place. His performance at the DP World India Championship, where he secured a ninth-place finish, is paying off. With an average of 4.00 ranking points, he overtakes Michael Brennan and Ludvig Åberg. Interestingly: At the end of 2025, MacIntyre was still ranked seventh – so his current rise is more a statement that he's truly getting back into form, rather than a new all-time high.

Tom Kim: A Consistent Performer on the Rise

Tom Kim is also making strong progress: He improves by two spots to 31st place with an average of 3.21 points. This is a statement when considering he was still ranked 107th at the end of 2025. His ascent is a real highlight of the current rankings and shows that this golfer is truly on top of his game right now.

DACH Power on the Green

And what about our DACH crew? Sepp Straka slipped one spot but confidently defends his position as the best player in the region at 37th place. Behind him, Matti Schmid holds the German flag high at 98th, closely followed by Stephan Jäger at 104th. The biggest surprise comes from Joel Girrbach, who improved by a significant 20 spots and is now ranked 233rd. He thus remains the top player from Switzerland. Bernd Wiesberger also gains ground, jumping from 147th to 144th.

These shifts are not just mere numbers on paper; they also have a direct impact on upcoming events. MacIntyre, Tom Kim, and Straka are all listed for the Hero World Challenge, where they will compete with their current rankings (18th, 31st, and 37th). Joel Girrbach, after two consecutive top-15 finishes, will compete at the Genesis Championship in South Korea. That promises exciting duels on the green!
