Only 18 holes separate Liam Nolan from his first DP World Tour Card for 2027 – on Mallorca, the youngster is under maximum pressure but also facing the biggest opportunity of his career.
The 26-year-old Irishman, based in Galway, has secured an excellent starting position at the HotelPlanner Tour Rolex Grand Final at Club de Golf Alcanada. With rounds of 70, 69, and a solid 71, he is six under par overall, tied for 25th place. In the "Road to Mallorca" standings, he remains number 12 – and thus safely within the top 15 who receive the coveted ticket for the elite tour.
Nolan's Stellar Season
What a development the young Irishman has made this year! In only his second professional season, he's performing exceptionally well. Nolan has already secured five top-10 finishes in 2026. The absolute highlight: He claimed victory at the Abu Dhabi Challenge, a tournament he recently won. And as if that wasn't enough, he also showed his potential at the Irish Open – with a tied 31st place at three under par, he even finished two shots ahead of a certain Rory McIlroy.
The Final Test of Nerves
Even though Nolan is projected with 842.98 points ahead of his pursuers like Will Enefer (806.12), John Catlin (14th with 787.27), and Andrew Wilson (784.25), it's not over yet. The battle for the remaining cards, with a total of 15 being awarded, is tight. A strong charge from behind can change everything. Nolan himself remained solid all week despite the windy conditions and wants to give it his all on Sunday to finally hold the Tour Card in his hands. The drama is palpable!
