Folks, that was a thrilling LIV Golf final once again! Lucas Herbert of Ripper GC claimed the individual title at the Maaden LIV Golf Virginia 2026 – and that after a week that truly had it all. We're talking pure drama, tight finishes, and a winner who delivers under pressure.
Although he didn't make it easy for himself on the green, Lucas Herbert ultimately held his nerve. With a strong 3-under 69 on his Sunday scorecard, he secured his first individual LIV Golf title. It was a fierce battle, as veteran Sergio Garcia really put the pressure on him over all 36 holes, but Herbert managed to keep him at bay by four strokes in the end. What a finish!
Nerves of Steel Despite Battling Sickness
On the way back to the clubhouse, specifically on the back nine of Trump National Washington D.C., it was a rollercoaster of emotions. Things got particularly tight around holes 9 and 10. But Lucas remained calm, even when a rain delay further heightened the tension. He then simply played exceptionally well. “I’ve been pretty sick all week,” he later revealed to us. “Sergio pushed me hard for 36 holes, but I never doubted myself. I'm especially proud of how I played the last eight holes after the rain delay.”
Ripper Celebrates – 4Aces Clinch Team Title
While Lucas Herbert shone individually, Ripper GC also had reason to celebrate as a team. However, the team trophy was clinched by the guys from 4Aces GC – and that in a grueling playoff. Congratulations to everyone who participated and delivered this spectacle for us!
