Ripper GC's Lucas Herbert fired an 11-under 61 on Thursday at the JCB Golf & Country Club, but big names like Bryson DeChambeau and Tyrrell Hatton are hot on his heels. Herbert, who has been the strongest player for Ripper GC in recent weeks, shot an 11-under 61 in the opening round of the LIV Golf United Kingdom Presented by JCB at JCB Golf & Country Club. This bogey-free performance broke the course record of 62, which was set four years ago at an event when the course was also played as a par-72.
This is his lowest score relative to par in his LIV Golf career and a continuation of a streak that has made Herbert one of the hottest players in golf, starting with a win at LIV Golf Virginia in May. He then held the 36-hole lead at The Open Championship, where he shot a 62 in the second round to tie the all-time major scoring record. Now, he has played 11-under par in the first round at JCB.
