What a remarkable performance: Tyrrell Hatton not only secured victory at the LIV Golf Andalucía 2026 but also maintained the composure of a new father. The Englishman triumphed at Real Club Valderrama with a final round of 70, finishing at an impressive 11-under par. This was not only his first LIV Golf title since Nashville 2024 but also secured the team victory for Legion XIII.
For a long time, however, a runaway victory seemed unlikely. After twelve holes, Hatton was still 2 over par, but then he kicked into gear. With clutch birdies on the 13th, 16th, and 17th, he fended off the aggressive Jon Rahm and secured the triumph. A true drama unfolding on the course, just as one could wish for!
Rahm's Powerful Charge
Jon Rahm truly made it difficult for him. The captain of Legion XIII – Hatton's teammate – produced the round of the day: a superb 4-under 67. This moved Rahm up to second place, finishing at 9 under. The local fans in Sotogrande were ecstatic and hoped for a complete comeback until the very end.
Dad on the Podium
Despite the adrenaline rush, Hatton remained cool, with only one thing on his mind: his family. “No matter how today turns out, I’m flying home to my crying baby and changing diapers,” Hatton said. “That's going to happen anyway.” A wonderful, down-to-earth attitude that Jon Rahm could only echo. He was genuinely happy for his teammate and the new dad: “If someone beats me, then I’m happy for them. He truly deserved the victory and helped the team in the process.”
