Sergio Garcia: PGA Tour Return 'Definitely Possible'

Sergio Garcia's golden handcuffs are shattered – and the Masters champion sees a path back to the PGA Tour as 'definitely possible.' Following a court ruling, the Spaniard is free from his original LIV contract and is now considering all options: PGA Tour, DP World Tour, a potential LIV 2.0 deal, or even the Champions Tour. That's quite a packed schedule for a man who really just wants to hole putts.

Back on the Course?

The good news for all Garcia fans: A recent bankruptcy court ruling allowed him to terminate his LIV Golf participation agreement. This closes the 'LIV 1.0' chapter for him, and potential contractual repercussions are off the table. A PGA Tour comeback, according to Garcia, is 'definitely a possibility.' However, the Maestro will have to be patient: he is suspended by the PGA Tour until at least August 2027, due to his last LIV appearance. He is currently competing in the Open de España in Madrid, already indicating where his short-term journey is headed – to the DP World Tour.

🚨🏌️👀 #BIG DREAMS — Former LIV Golf 1.0 star Sergio Garcia says he’s open to returning to the PGA Tour and his goals for 2027 include making the European Ryder Cup squad. On a return to the PGA Tour: “It’s a possibility. I turn 47 in January, so it’s a possibility, and so is

The Ryder Cup Calls

The big goal Garcia has in mind is qualifying for the European Ryder Cup Team 2027 at Adare Manor, Ireland. That would be a monumental comeback into golf's absolute elite. He has even hinted that he would support the team in a non-playing role if he doesn't make the squad. A truly strong commitment! Turning 47 in January, the PGA Tour Champions also beckons him, especially because of the major tournaments there.

Garcia's freedom could also set an important precedent for other LIV players like Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith, as the league restructures itself through bankruptcy proceedings. One thing is certain: Garcia has the freedom to plan his next step, but it's not yet a confirmed PGA Tour comeback. However, the door is open, and that alone is worth a story.
