Rocking the PGA Tour at just 19? Blades Brown has shown how it's done, with a bold gamble he took at 17 paying off spectacularly. He is the youngest golfer ever to secure full playing rights for the PGA Tour via the Korn Ferry Tour – a top-tier career accelerator that leaves many in awe.
Youngster in the Fast Lane
Brown has shattered an age record: at 19 years, 4 months, and 20 days, he beat Jason Day's 2007 record by a full seven months. He secured his spot for the 2027 PGA Tour season by finishing ninth in the final 2026 Korn Ferry Tour Points List, where the top 20 receive the coveted card. This was no surprise after he finished second at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, just two shots behind Austin Hitt, delivering a blistering round of 61.
A Taste of the PGA Tour
His decision to turn professional in December 2024, when he was still 17, and forgo the US college system, was seen as a high risk at the time. But Blades was undeterred and got a strong taste of PGA Tour action as early as 2026. Eleven starts, seven top-25 finishes, and only two missed cuts speak volumes. His best result was a third-place finish at the Puerto Rico Open in March, which earned him $276,000. Equally impressive was his round of 60 at the American Express, where he even teed off in the final pairing with superstar Scottie Scheffler and ultimately finished tied for 18th place. Blades Brown demonstrates that one can deviate from the traditional path if one has enough talent and courage. His bank account confirms this: he has already raked in around $1.8 million since turning professional.
