What's up, golfers! The second day of the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club is in full swing, and our guys from the LIV Tour are right in the thick of it. We're taking a look at how the 11 LIV Golf pros are performing, but one stands out especially: David Puig from Fireballs GC, who is truly delivering right now.
Puig Hits the Accelerator!
David Puig really surged up the leaderboard on Friday afternoon. He played his first nine holes bogey-free with a strong 2 under par. At the turn, he was already at 1 under par for the tournament, easily putting him into the Top 20. A really strong move that shows us golfers that anything is possible here!
In Strokes Gained Off the Tee, Puig was already impressive on the first day, ranking second in the 156-man field. But on Friday, his putter was an absolute game-changer. He holed a birdie putt from 18.5 feet (approx. 5.64 meters) on the second hole and saved par twice with ice-cold long putts: On the 7th hole, it was a wild 21 feet (approx. 6.40 meters) and on the 8th hole, another 17 feet (approx. 5.18 meters)! You need nerves of steel for that.
On Track for a Top Finish?
For Puig, this is his sixth Major start, and he could deliver his best Major result ever here. His previous top result was a tied 39th place at the 2023 U.S. Open, which was also his Major debut. Now, it's time to keep our fingers crossed, folks, so he can maintain this incredible round and climb even higher! That would be quite a statement!
