Korda power back on the green at last! After a three-year break, Nelly (27) and Jessica Korda (33) are teeing off together this week at the LPGA Ford Championship in Chandler, Arizona. We haven't seen the sisters together on tour since the 2023 Founders Cup – a real highlight for all golf fans who have missed the family duel.
For Jessica, this tournament is a true milestone. After a persistent back injury and her maternity leave following the birth of her son Greyson in 2024, she is making her comeback to regular LPGA competition. She trains casually three days a week and goes into the round without much pressure of expectation. Just being back seems to be the motto.
The Comeback and the Hunger for Titles
While Jessica celebrates her comeback, Nelly is in top form. The current world No. 2, who was No. 1 in 2024, already secured victory at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in 2026. Last week at the Fortinet Founders Cup, she was really strong but narrowly lost to Hyo Joo Kim after a par on the 17th wouldn't drop. Now she is determined to secure her second win of the 2026 season and dethrone Jeeno Thitikul from the world No. 1 spot.
The Tournament – All Eyes on the Kordas
The Ford Championship boasts a hefty prize purse of 2.25 million US dollars and a field of 144 players. Hyo Joo Kim will try to defend her 2025 title. Nelly Korda herself triumphed here in 2024 during her incredible winning streak. The tension is almost unbearable. For those who want to follow the spectacle live: The Golf Channel will broadcast starting Thursday at 7 PM ET (Friday, 1 AM CEST). We're already hyped for this blockbuster round!
