Morikawa: Top 10 at RBC Heritage Despite Back Problems

Collin Morikawa once again showed what he's made of at the 2026 RBC Heritage. Despite nagging back problems, the US star battled his way to a top-10 finish and provided an update on his condition after the tournament. Now that's what we call grit, folks!

After his appearance at the 2026 Masters, where Rory McIlroy, by the way, claimed his back-to-back title, Morikawa's performance at Harbour Town was truly strong. On the iconic PGA Tour course, which featured a no-cut format, he proved that he can still deliver even when hampered. Among other highlights, he holed an 11-foot (3.35-meter) birdie putt on the 15th hole and placed his tee shot on the 17th hole within 12 feet (3.66 meters) of the flag, which earned him another birdie. His rounds of 67, 68, 69, and 67 strokes speak for themselves. After the round, he expressed relief: "I'm glad the last two weeks are over."

Collin Morikawa shot rounds of 67, 68, 69 and 67 to secure top 10s in back to back starts since returning from injury. After the round he said he’s relieved the last two weeks are over: “I'm happy these last two weeks are done. It's been a grind. The two weeks of golf have felt

Morikawa's Future Question Marks

However, how things will unfold for Morikawa in the coming weeks remains intriguing. When asked about his schedule for the next six weeks, he stated it was "unknown." His body needs to cooperate first, and then there's also a baby on the way, which could "mix up" his calendar "a bit." We're keeping our fingers crossed for Morikawa and the family!

Does your schedule for the next six weeks still look the same? COLLIN MORIKAWA: Unknown. Going to see how the body goes. Obviously we have a baby due, and that can kind of throw some things off. Going to take it week by week now.

Fitzpatrick Triumphs in Playoff

While Morikawa battled with his fitness, Matt Fitzpatrick claimed victory in a true thriller. In the playoff, he dueled with Scottie Scheffler and drained a 13-foot (3.96-meter) birdie putt on the first extra hole. He could have sealed the title earlier, but a bogey on the 18th hole in the regular round sent the tournament into a playoff. For Fitzpatrick, it was already his second victory in three events – he's on a roll!

What a weekend on the PGA Tour, golfers! Full of drama and strong performances, exactly what every golf fan's heart desires.
