Masters: LIV Golf Stars Falter in Round 3

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Masters Saturday has dawned in Augusta, folks! Every golfer is eager to make a move on the iconic greens of Augusta National Golf Club and make a real statement. Five LIV Golf players are competing this weekend. Here's a look at how each player fared on Saturday. Note: Check back regularly for updates as each player finishes their round.

Dustin Johnson of 4Aces GC carded a 3-over 75 in his third round, placing him at 3-over overall. Momentum simply refused to build. The Captain dropped shots at crucial moments and couldn't mount a real charge. Unfortunately, he's quite far back before the final round.

Rahm Struggles, Garcia Falter

Jon Rahm of Legion XIII also had a rollercoaster round. He started very strongly with two birdies on the first three holes. But then the early momentum was gone. Bogeys on holes 5, 11, and 14 slowed him down considerably. Although a birdie on the 15th briefly stabilized the situation, a finishing bogey on the 18th gave him a 1-over 73. At 5-over overall, he is now also well off the pace. Rahm himself on his putting struggles: "One thing I'll tell you: my putting wasn't the best, and I had to putt the line the last two days, which I almost never do, just to help myself a little bit."

Sergio Garcia of Fireballs GC posted a 2-over 74. A costly double bogey on the 17th hole late in his round proved detrimental. The Fireballs GC Captain is now also at 5-over for the tournament.

Schwartzel: Bad Luck at Augusta?

Charl Schwartzel of Southern Guards GC had a particularly tough day, carding a 5-over 77, including a costly double bogey on the 10th hole. The experienced Southern Guards GC player now stands at 9-over overall and thus slips further down the leaderboard before the final round. He reflected: "I think over a career, you have a lot more bad luck on this course, or you'll feel that way. As I said, I was fortunate to have that one week where everything went my way."
