The final six events of the 2026 LPGA Tour are more than just a few tournaments – everything is decided here: from the Race to the CME Globe, the $2 million Aon Risk Reward Challenge bonus, to LPGA status for next year and starting spots for the CME Group Tour Championship. This is the ultimate thrilling finale that decides the careers of the female golfers and sets the course for 2027.
China Kicks Off the Finale
The exciting final stretch begins from October 15-18 with the Buick LPGA Shanghai at Sheshan Golf Club. A field of 81 players, including 28 of the top 50 in the world rankings, will compete for a prize fund of $3.2 million. Immediately following, from October 22-25, the BMW Ladies Championship in South Korea will take place. There, 84 players will vie for $2.35 million in the prize pool, with the winner taking home a hefty $350,000. In Shanghai, Jeeno Thitikul returns as defending champion, alongside top stars like Nelly Korda, Miyu Yamashita, Ruoning Yin, Lottie Woad, and Charley Hull – guaranteeing plenty of action.
The Hunt for Status and Millions
These six events are the last chance to collect points for the CME Group Tour Championship. Only the top 60 in the season standings qualify to play for the $4 million grand prize at the finale. Players on the cusp of the top 60 are now under maximum pressure to secure their position. It's about nothing less than the Tour card for 2027 – a strong performance here can secure full status for the next season. The LPGA Q-Series, which was originally scheduled for this week, has been postponed due to heavy rainfall. A blow to some who wanted to secure their 2027 Tour card this way. While this doesn't shift the main Tour races, it delays decisions for many.
To add some more context to the LPGA Q-school cancellation. Multiple players who are Euro Tour members skipped the event in Korea this week in order to get to the States. Skipping a $2 million purse, (part of the Aramco series events) by FAR the biggest purses of the year.
