The wait is over, folks! LIV Golf is finally back on US soil, making its first appearance of 2026. The spectacle unfolds at Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C. in Potomac Falls, Virginia. An epic backdrop for the action that awaits us!
The course is a par-72 design by Tom Fazio, stretching a hefty 7,679 yards (7,023 meters) and winding its way directly along the Potomac River – a few holes there where the ball could end up in the water if you're not careful. Trump National is no stranger to the LIV stars; it hosted LIV Golf DC in 2023, where Harold Varner III claimed victory.
Who's Leading the Pack? Team Power Rankings!
The tension is rising as we've taken a look at the current Team Power Rankings before things really get going at Maaden LIV Golf Virginia. A total of 13 teams are competing for the crown, but one name stands out particularly: Legion XIII. This team just clinched their first season victory in Mexico City – and for the third time in a row! They are currently tough to beat.
Jon Rahm, the man of the hour, shot a bogey-free 7-under 64 there, securing victory with a six-shot lead at an incredible 21 under par. That was already his second individual title of the 2026 season! Rahm has now won two of the last four LIV Golf events and is firmly in control of the individual points race. Tom McKibbin, too, is slowly finding his rhythm after a tough start to the season, finishing 5th in Mexico City. Tyrrell Hatton entered the final round with a promising position but struggled to keep pace with his teammate, slipping back to 5th place after a 1-over 72 on Sunday.
Hatton's Quest for Consistency
Hatton has had some real moments of brilliance this season, including a strong third-place finish at the Masters, but he still lacks consistency over four rounds at a LIV Golf event. If he figures that out, then Legion XIII is virtually unbeatable. That promises some hot duels on the green!
