Kaymer: Second Surgery! Battle for 2027 Comeback

Hard to believe, but Martin Kaymer has undergone surgery for the second time within two months! On Friday, October 30, 2026, the 41-year-old announced that he was back in the hospital. It's already the second procedure after his shoulder surgery on September 18, 2026, which made 2026 a "challenging" year for him. Now he hopes this is the "last repair for a while."

While the exact nature of the recent procedure remains undisclosed, Kaymer assures that it will not affect his shoulder rehab. His goal is clear: he wants to be "fully recovered and ready to play, wherever it may be" by early 2027. That's an announcement that's high on our DELOFTED radar!

A Year to Forget?

The 2026 season was, to put it mildly, far from optimal for the German. He missed LIV Golf Adelaide due to an elbow injury, and his best result was a tied 24th finish at LIV Golf Andalucía in June. He ended up in 53rd place in the individual standings – certainly not what a player of Kaymer's caliber had envisioned.

Comeback Plan 2027

Where his journey will lead after his recovery is still open. Although he was captain of Cleeks GC at LIV Golf in 2022, rumors about the future of LIV Golf persist. Kaymer himself has not yet revealed which tour he intends to play on in 2027. One thing is certain: Martin Kaymer has a clear goal for 2027, but the path there is still long and full of question marks.
