Justin Biwer has secured his breakthrough: The former college star grabs the coveted status for the 2027 Korn Ferry Tour! With a strong 7th-place finish in the final PGA TOUR Americas Points Standings after the Dominican Republic Tour Championship on Sunday, October 18, 2026, he has punched his ticket to the next level. For many golfers, this is the dream – now things are getting serious.
Biwer's 2026 season made a statement: In his twelve starts on the PGA TOUR Americas, he recorded four top-10 finishes. Especially towards the end of the season, things were particularly strong: A victory at the CR Championship presented by Northern Pacific and a narrow second-place finish at the ATB Classic presented by Building Trades Alberta propelled him into the promotion ranks. He truly showed what he's made of.
The Leap to the Next Level
His path led him from the University of Colorado, where he played from 2021 to 2025 and posted the best scoring average in program history with 70.95, directly into the professional circuit. Biwer is also not a complete newcomer to the Korn Ferry Tour: He already had three starts in 2026, including top-10 finishes at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Championship and the AdventHealth Championship. This was essentially the dress rehearsal for what's to come.
What the Korn Ferry Tour Means for Biwer
The Korn Ferry Tour is famously the springboard directly below the PGA TOUR. Ten cards for the 2027 KFT were awarded through the PGA TOUR Americas season; Thomas Ponder secured first place in the standings, while Joey Savoie won the tournament in the Dominican Republic with 14-under par, moving up to fourth place. For Biwer, this status means a full opportunity to contend for a spot on the biggest stage in 2027. The golf world eagerly watches this youngster, who will attack the KFT starting in 2027.
