The DP World Tour Q-School has spoken: None of the four players associated with LIV Golf could qualify for the demanding Final Stage – a massive setback for their 2027 tour ambitions and a clear statement in times of unresolved golf disputes. It's now clear: The door to the DP World Tour remains closed for these guys for now.
Things went particularly poorly for Yosuke Asaji, who fell just one shot short on the desert course of Desert Springs, finishing T26 at 12-under par. Asaji had only joined LIV in 2026 as a wildcard, having shown strong form in the 2025 Asian Tour International Series. Michael La Sasso, the 22-year-old rising star who won LIV Golf Indianapolis just this August, also had to settle for T64.
Bitter Exit for the LIV Connection
A real setback also for Sam Horsfield, the former Majesticks player, who was nine shots outside the qualifying mark and finished T52. His plan to return to the DP World Tour via Q-School thus did not pan out. The most dramatic exit, however, was for Luis Masaveu, who failed in a nail-biting playoff at Golf Las Pinaillas as six players battled for the last four spots. He is now at least the first alternate for the Final Stage – a small glimmer of hope.
Who Will Dominate the Final Stage
The all-decisive Final Stage runs from November 6th to 11th at Infinitum Golf in Tarragona, Spain. A hefty 156 players are set to compete, showcasing their skills over six rounds. Only the top 15 and ties will secure a highly coveted DP World Tour Card for 2027. Among those lucky enough to have made it to this final round are former LIV player Kieran Vincent and DP World Tour winner Adri Arnaus – so excitement on the course is guaranteed.
