A million dollars and his first individual PGA Tour title: Andrew Novak secured the big win at the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open, breaking a tournament record in the process. The 31-year-old American triumphed with an astonishing score of 25-under 259, five strokes ahead of the competition. What a statement on a golf weekend!
Novak started the final round with a six-shot lead, and even though the lead briefly wavered, he remained ice-cold. With three consecutive birdies from the 12th to the 14th hole, he ultimately sealed the win. An incredible 45-foot (approx. 13.7 meters) putt on the 14th hole proved that he possessed nerves of steel.
Novak Cashes In
The tournament boasted a total prize fund of a hefty 6 million US dollars. Andrew Novak alone took home 1.08 million dollars for first place. Steven Fisk and Kristoffer Ventura, who shared second place, also received a respectable payout. It wasn't just about glory, but also about serious cash.
A Leap into the Golf Elite
This victory is more than just another trophy for Novak. While it was his second PGA Tour title overall, it was his first as an individual winner – his previous triumph was a team event with Ben Griffin at the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. This success propels him from 89th to approximately 53rd place in the FedExCup Fall Standings. This means he is now well-positioned for the coveted 2027 Signature Events at Pebble Beach and Riviera.
