The DP World Tour Q-School 2026 is no walk in the park, but a grueling, three-stage, 252-hole marathon that determines a dream career on Europe's biggest stage, ultimately awarding the coveted Tour cards for 2027. The nerve-wracking First Stage runs from August 25th to September 25th, followed by the Second Stage at the end of October, and the decisive Final Stage from November 6th to 11th at INFINITUM in Spain.
In the First Stage, golfers compete on ten courses across seven countries to advance to the next round – over 72 holes. With typically 80 players per field and a ruthless 36-hole cut that eliminates anyone more than ten shots behind the qualifying spots, the competition is brutal. Every shot, every putt counts here to land among the top 19 (in a full field) and secure a spot. Michael La Sasso and Yosuke Asaji are currently competing in Germany, while Martin Gründemann is performing very strongly at the Golf- und Country Club Seddiner See and has defended his lead.
The Dream of the Big Tour
Those who clear this first hurdle move on to the Second Stage at four Spanish courses – also over 72 holes. The path is long and arduous, but the goal is clear: the Final Stage. This stage is being held for the eighth consecutive time at the INFINITUM facility in Tarragona, Spain. Here, 156 players will compete over 108 holes before a cut is made after 72 holes. Only the top 15 and ties will ultimately secure their full Tour card for 2027.
High-Caliber Challengers
The Q-School 2026 promises to be particularly exciting. Rumors are swirling that some former or current LIV Golf-affiliated players are seeking their way back onto the established tours. Five of them have already registered, and Josele Ballester and Luis Masaveu secured their spot in the next round last week.
