Michael Brennan has just made it clear who calls the shots on Tour: At the Baycurrent Classic in Yokohama, he not only secured the victory with a 3-under 68, but also his second PGA Tour title of the 2026 season. A real statement that finally propels the 24-year-old into the circle of top stars.
The final was not for the faint of heart. After a bogey on the 10th hole, Brennan hit the turbo with consecutive birdies on the 11th and 12th and held the lead with six pars until the end. The crucial moment? A brilliant recovery shot from the bunker on the par-3 16th, which left the ball a foot from the flag – a real game-changer on the way to 16-under-par and a total score of 268. Jacob Bridgeman and Keith Mitchell shared second place at 15-under-par, falling short to Brennan by a single stroke.
The Rising Star Delivers Again
Michael Brennan is firing on all cylinders in 2026. The former Wake Forest player already triumphed at the Wyndham Championship in August, and with his win at the Bank of Utah Championship in 2025, he now boasts an impressive three PGA Tour victories in just 33 starts. A record that is unparalleled and underscores how quickly this young American has established himself on the big stage.
Brennan's Formula for Success
His dominance? Not just luck. In the final, Brennan hit all 15 fairways and incredibly found 96% of the fairways throughout the entire tournament. This statistical control was crucial to remain flawless on the demanding layout in Yokohama. Even defending champion Xander Schauffele, who closed with a round of 67, was three strokes back in the end – proof of Brennan's outstanding performance. The victory at the Baycurrent Classic, part of the FedExCup Fall schedule, solidifies Brennan's position as one of the Tour's most exciting young players.
