Alex Fitzpatrick Wins Indian Open – Brothers' Victory!

What a golf weekend, folks! Alex Fitzpatrick today clinched his maiden DP World Tour title at the 2026 Hero Indian Open. A sensational performance that is not only a personal milestone for him but also writes golf history for the entire Fitzpatrick family. Because with his victory, Alex, together with brother Matt, has achieved something incredible.

The Englishman triumphed at nine under par, securing the victory two strokes ahead of defending champion Eugenio Chacarra. He was trailing Chacarra after the start of the final day. But Alex hit the accelerator from the 6th hole, carding eight birdies over twelve holes, demonstrating his ability to perform strongly under pressure. Only a double-bogey on the 18th couldn't prevent his triumph anymore.

Fitzpatrick's Magical Moments

Fitzpatrick delivered a final round of 69 (three under par), characterized by pure will. He took the lead with a birdie streak from holes 11 to 13, and then added more from 15 to 17. Meanwhile, Chacarra struggled, recording six bogeys on his scorecard – including three in a row from the 15th hole. Alex's strong putting was key; he later admitted to having lost track of his birdie count. His first victory in his 87th start on the DP World Tour – that's what I call perseverance!

Family Affair: Brotherly Power on the Tours

What makes this victory even more incredible: Alex and Matt Fitzpatrick are the first brothers ever to win on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour in consecutive weeks. Matt had secured victory at the Valspar Championship the previous Sunday – his third PGA Tour title, by just one stroke. Alex, just 27 years old, has always emphasized that he idolizes Matt and wants to emulate him. This weekend, he spectacularly proved that he is well on his way.

A family story that no one will soon forget. The Fitzpatricks show how it's done when passion and talent go hand in hand. Congratulations, guys!
