What a story! At the Jakarta International Championship, Wade Ormsby once again demonstrated nerves of steel. The former LIV golfer secured his fifth Asian Tour title in a playoff – and that, after having to overcome a real shocker beforehand! Imagine this: You're on the tee, thinking you're heading into the final round with a lead. Then comes the announcement: A penalty! Officials determined his ball had moved on the fourth hole of the third round when he addressed it. Boom! The lead was gone; instead, Ormsby found himself tied with Scott Vincent and Gaganjeet Bhullar at 11-under – with 18 holes of the International Series event still ahead of them. That's when the mental game truly kicks in! For India's Bhullar, the final day unfortunately did not go his way at all. With a 4-over 74, he fell out of contention and could no longer keep pace with the leading trio. However, Zimbabwe's Scott Vincent started off very strong and quickly took the lead. But Ormsby, the fighter, didn't let up and stayed hot on his heels. The pressure was immense, and the final holes turned dramatic: Vincent carded a crucial bogey on the 16th and missed a birdie putt on the 17th – thus opening the door wide for Ormsby! And the Australian? He seized the opportunity with cool precision, saving par with a superb eight-foot putt on the final hole to force a playoff. What nerves! Ormsby closed his stellar round with nine consecutive pars. He and Vincent were both at 12-under after signing for a 1-under 69 each. Off to a sudden-death playoff! But the drama continued! Five players – including Scott Vincent's brother Kieran – missed the playoff by just a single stroke. For Kieran, the dream was shattered particularly cruelly: He bogeyed the last hole after his ball found the water. It's a stark reminder of how merciless this sport can be when everything is on the line. In the end, only one triumphed, and that was Wade Ormsby. What an achievement!
