The BMW Championship didn't just deliver sporting highlights, but also an authentic equipment coup: Titleist brought serious drama to the course with the brand-new GTS300 Mini Driver and previously unseen proto-putters. The 300cc powerhouse, with its 13° loft and 43.5-inch (110.49 cm) shaft, became a talking point – a clear move to elevate fairway finding to a new level. With two adjustable sole weights, but no adjustable hosel, the intention is clear: maximum precision over wild hitting.
The GTS300 Mini is not a simple driver replacement, but rather a specialist for tight fairways. It features a forged L-cup face and a thermoformed crown, typical of the GTS family. This club is a real gem for the ball-striker who wants to perform even on narrow fairways and values the classic Titleist feel. A club that promises to hit balls exactly where they belong.
The Mini Driver Hype Rolls On
Mini drivers are currently making a big splash, and Tour pros are eager to use them. Golf Monthly recently revealed that by 2026, nine players from the PGA Tour's Top 50 will be using these compact clubs – up from seven in 2025. This indicates that the trend towards more control and flexibility in the bag is unstoppable. Performance tests show that these clubs, with their shorter shafts, still deliver distances of 250 to 275 yards (228.6 to 251.46 meters), while offering significantly better dispersion.

But it wasn't just the Mini Driver that caused a stir. Around the BMW Championship, unknown proto-putters also appeared. Titleist is still keeping quiet about them, but golfers with eagle eyes naturally spotted the new treasures immediately. Exactly what is coming soon is still hidden in the mist of the green, but it promises to be exciting. One thing is clear: Titleist is gearing up – and the Tour will be the first battlefield.
Missed the official media new Titleist GTS fitting few months back but Titleist set me up today with a private fitting at Lakewood Country Club to really dial me in. Thanks Titleist and my fitter Dustin O’Hara. A few surprises (from previous setups) with heavier weight in driver
