Tiger Woods might still surprise us with a PGA Tour appearance in 2026. Although Tiger was missing from the initial starting list for the Hero World Challenge, hope persists that he'll still rock a sanctioned event this year. The rumor mill is buzzing mightily, and not without reason.
Kevin Kisner, an NBC Sports Analyst and a true force on the green himself, has dropped some explosive news. The man, who was recently cut from Tiger's Jupiter Links team for the 2027 TGL because Woods is reportedly planning a full TGL season, is firmly convinced: Tiger will play the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship. If a player has to vacate his spot because the boss himself plans to be seriously involved, there must be some truth to it, right?
Glimmer of Hope on the Horizon
The Hero World Challenge, which Woods himself hosts from December 3rd to 6th in the Bahamas, still has three open exemption spots. While there's no official confirmation that one is reserved for the Maestro, the tension is almost palpable. Woods was last seen at the Open Championship in 2024 – where he missed the cut. Since then, there have only been training videos and an appearance at a junior clinic. Is that enough to return to the Tour and deliver one stellar round after another?
What's Coming in 2027?
The PNC Championship from December 17th to 20th, 2026, is also being discussed, where he traditionally competes with son Charlie. But here too: no official commitment yet. For 2027, the TGL seems set, with Woods playing for Jupiter Links GC. The Masters and the Open Championship in 2027 are, as an ex-champ, certainly within his grasp. Will we see him on Tour this year? Speculation is strong, but confirmation is pending. But hey, we're talking about Tiger Woods – anything is possible!
