Alker finished the tournament at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club with an impressive 16-under 194, capped by a strong 5-under 65 in the final round. He laid the foundation on Saturday with a phenomenal 61 – a new tournament record and an absolute stellar round that propelled him into the top position for the final day. Y.E. Yang proved to be a tough competitor, forcing a playoff with a brilliant 63 in the final round after Alker missed a birdie putt on the 72nd hole.
Playoff Drama
The playoff was then a clear affair. Yang carded a bogey, while Alker capitalized on his opportunity with a birdie to seal the deal. This wasn't Alker's first playoff win this year; he also defeated Padraig Harrington in extra holes at the Cologuard Classic in March. The man apparently loves extra rounds!
