Stenson: LIV Exit, PGA Tour Comeback! Zach Johnson Welcomes Him

What's up, folks? We've got news from the green that's as unexpected as a hole-in-one on a par 5! Henrik Stenson, who departed from LIV Golf after the 2025 season, is on the verge of a surprise comeback – and within the PGA Tour's orbit, no less. Former Ryder Cup Captain Zach Johnson has already welcomed him and buddy Pat Perez with open arms.

Stenson, who won The Open Championship in 2016 and is a true Ryder Cup veteran, had to pack his bags after the last LIV season. The promotion and relegation system at LIV is brutal; there are no kid gloves involved. Now he's teeing it up again on the US circuit with Pat Perez.

Comeback on the Senior Circuit

But wait, golfers! It's getting even more exciting, as Stenson is eyeing a move to the PGA Tour Champions. He could become the first ex-LIV player to compete on the senior tour once his suspension is lifted in August. He's already making his comeback this week and is probably already dreaming of the US Open in June at Shinnecock.

Old Faces, New Opportunities?

The return of Stenson and Perez, whom Zach Johnson called "two good friends," could be a sign. A sign that the lines between the tours are slowly blurring again. Whether the old rifts will close or if these are just isolated cases remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: when such big names are back in the mix, it's incredibly strong for the sport!

The golf world is curious to see how Stenson will perform. Can he build on past successes when he really gets going in August? We'll stay tuned and look forward to the comeback of this heavyweight.
