Attention, golf fans! The Masters is just around the corner, and as is fitting for a major, there's already plenty of drama and heartwarming stories even before the first tee shot. In the spotlight: superstar Scottie Scheffler. The world number one has not only brought his clubs but also a brand new family member to Augusta.
On March 27, 2026, Scottie and Meredith welcomed their second son, Remy, into the world. And the little one, just nine days old, got to admire the famous oak tree at the Augusta National Clubhouse on Sunday – his first Masters, right as a newborn! Scottie himself said about the name choice: "We just liked it," and confessed that good boy names can be a real challenge.
Paternity Break and Performance Check
For Remy, Scheffler had canceled the Texas Children's Houston Open. Since The Players Championship in mid-March, he hadn't competed but diligently practiced at home. On Sunday, April 5, he completed an important practice round and presented the trophies at the Drive, Chip & Putt Finals. His wife Meredith and first son Bennett (born 2024) were there, while grandma and grandpa looked after little Remy in his stroller.
Hunt for the Third Green Jacket
Now the US boy is aiming for his third Green Jacket. Scheffler has already won the Masters twice and is eager for the hat-trick. His recent form, however, has been a bit mixed: A T24 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a T22 finish at The Players ended his incredible streak of 18 consecutive top-10 finishes. But if anyone can truly deliver under pressure, it's Scottie. It's going to be a phenomenal round, I'm sure of it!
