Sam Burns has issued an invitation to LeBron James that could turn the golf world upside down. The five-time PGA Tour winner would love nothing more than to play a round with the NBA giant and is firmly convinced: LeBron could give golf a really strong global push and attract new fans to the greens.
The King in Golf Mode
Because LeBron is no longer just on the hardwood. Since 2025, the King has been appearing more and more frequently on the golf course and sharing his experiences publicly. Recently, he launched his own golf YouTube channel, where he, among other things, celebrated a trip to Scotland with former teammates from the 2016 Cavaliers. This is no coincidence; a full-fledged lifestyle project is emerging here, combining travel, golf, and plenty of flair. His enthusiasm for the little white ball seems to be flourishing.
For Burns, one of the truly strong players on Tour, it's clear: this presence is golden. On August 18th, at a charity event in St. Louis, where he also inspired kids, he left no doubt: "Oh, yeah. I’d love to!" he replied when asked if he would tee off with James. His enthusiasm was unmistakable.
When Will the Dream Round Happen?
No joint round between the two superstars has been officially announced yet, but the anticipation is palpable. The idea of LeBron, with his global appeal, introducing new fans to the sport, while a PGA professional like Burns shows him the ropes, is simply incredible. The potential to make the game even bigger is certainly in full swing. That would be a tee shot that would go down in history.
