TMRW Sports has landed a true strategist, appointing its first President of Golf – a move that could elevate TGL and WTGL to a new level. Rufus Hack, no stranger to the golf scene, is immediately taking charge of the entire golf portfolio, including the flagship TGL presented by SoFi, the soon-to-launch WTGL, and SoFi Center operations. He reports directly to TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley, and expectations are accordingly high.
The Architect Behind the Growth
Hack is a heavyweight with a resume that reads like a who's who of the sports industry. For the past five years, he served as CEO of Sony Sports, where he tripled revenue and significantly advanced the sports tech business with acquisitions like StatSports and KinaTrax. Prior to that, he held key roles at the PGA European Tour / DP World Tour, including Head of Strategy, Chief Content Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. A truly strong profile now poised to set the course for TMRW Sports.
The Next Level of Indoor Golf
This strategic move comes at a crucial time. TMRW Sports, with its indoor golf projects, stands on the brink of massive expansion. The TGL is entering its third season, while the WTGL is set to go live this autumn. Adding to this is the delicate media rights situation: TGL's ESPN deal expired after the 2025-26 season, and both leagues are in the midst of new negotiations. Hack brings precisely the blend of golf expertise, media savvy, and commercial experience now required to create value for leagues, players, partners, and fans.
For this role, Hack is relocating from London to Orlando to be directly at the heart of the development. TMRW Sports positions this appointment as the starting signal for the next growth phase, which will encompass not only the further development of TGL and the launch of WTGL but also entirely new golf initiatives. It will be exciting to see what drives Hack hits off the tee next.
