Ripper GC: Reset After Dream Start – Hattrick in Sight!

Rarely does a team start the season so emphatically that it feels like they already have the Super Bowl in the bag. But that's exactly what Ripper GC did at LIV Golf Adelaide! In front of a record-breaking, absolutely frenzied Australian crowd of over 115,000 golf fans – the largest in the history of Australian golf – they claimed victory on home turf. And as if that weren't impressive enough: this Ripper triumph came directly after their success in Riyadh, where just a week prior they opened the 2026 season with a double bang. Team title AND individual win – the latter clinched by 23-year-old rookie Elvis Smylie, who simply brought it home in his LIV Golf debut. What an opener! After the epic victory in Adelaide 2026, Ripper GC champions Cameron Smith, Elvis Smylie, Marc Leishman, and Lucas Herbert celebrated at the award ceremony as if there were no tomorrow. However, Team Captain Cameron Smith, speaking at the pre-tournament press conference in Hong Kong, urged caution. Momentum is good, but resting after the Adelaide high is equally important. “It was good to have two weeks off after a couple of really intense weeks,” Smith said. “I can only speak for myself, but by Sunday night, I was pretty exhausted. I just wanted to go to bed and have a few weeks off. It was nice to hit the reset button. But then it was straight back to work, preparing for these three upcoming weeks. It’s a real grind, especially Singapore in the middle, it’s brutally hot there. That really drains your energy. So, it’s important to rest and stay fresh.” Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about the goal of securing a third consecutive team victory in Fanling – a course the team loves. “We have really strong momentum,” Smith continued. “We all feel extremely confident and”
