Rahm & Legion XIII: LIV Golf Mexico City '26 Double Victory!

MEXICO CITY – In case his pursuers had their sights set on the individual title of LIV Golf Mexico City 2026, Jon Rahm sent a swift and decisive message on Sunday with a four-hole stretch that included three birdies and a tap-in eagle. The captain of Legion XIII remained aggressive thereafter at Club de Golf Chapultepec, playing the lowest round of the final day, a flawless 7-under 64, which led to a comfortable six-stroke victory over Fireballs GC's young star, David Puig.

It was the most decisive of Rahm's four individual victories since joining LIV Golf before the 2024 season – and it also helped him become the league's most successful player across all competitions. With his team, Legion XIII, also claiming the team trophy by nine strokes on Sunday, Rahm has now celebrated 16 different LIV Golf trophies. This puts him one trophy ahead of Bryson DeChambeau of Crushers GC, despite playing two fewer seasons. 'A bit of disbelief,' said Rahm, who finished 21-under par, just one week after a disappointing tied 38th finish at the Masters. 'If someone had told me last week on Thursday afternoon that I would win this week by six strokes, I wouldn't have believed it, because of how poorly I played. A heck of a performance and just, what a Sunday.'

Starting the day with a two-stroke lead, Rahm opened with a par, then drove the 318-yard (291-meter) par-4 second hole, where he two-putted from 66 feet (approx. 20 meters) for a birdie. He followed by driving the ball onto the green again, this time on the 390-yard (357-meter) par-4 third hole, his brilliant tee shot landed within 3 feet (approx. 0.9 meters) for an eagle. Birdie putts from 14 feet (approx. 4.3 meters) and 20 feet (approx. 6.1 meters) on the next two holes extended his lead to six strokes.

Meanwhile, his Legion XIII teammate, Tyrrell Hatton, who started the day just two strokes back and in the final group with Rahm, suffered a double bogey on the playable second hole and never really found his rhythm. 'Jon obviously played fantastic today,' said Hatton, who shot a 1-over 72 and secured a tied fifth place. 'He just had a perfect start, and yeah, for me, unfortunately, it ended up being a tough day.'

Puig, however, countered with his own hot start, which included birdies on three of his first four holes, as well as an eagle on the par-5 seventh. When Puig birdied the 10th hole, Rahm's lead was cut to three. 'I still think I had my chances, even with his good start,' said Puig. But Rahm followed
