Jon Rahm would likely be willing to swallow the bitter pill and accept the terms of Brooks Koepka's return to tee off on the PGA Tour again in 2027. However, as the Spanish superstar himself emphasizes, that's a 'huge if.' The rumor mill is buzzing, and fans hope for a comeback from the former world number one.
Rahm, a two-time major champion, recently signaled that he could imagine a return under similar, tough conditions. However, he has not yet held official discussions with tour officials. And the chances are not particularly good that the PGA Tour will put an identical offer on the table.
Koepka's Path Back – The Hard Facts
Brooks Koepka returned to the PGA Tour in January 2026 via the 'Returning Member Program,' after turning his back on LIV. That was no walk in the park: Koepka had to make a $5 million donation to charity, renounced PGA Tour equity for five years, was ineligible for the 2026 FedExCup Bonus Program, and had to qualify for specific 'signature events.' A hefty package that apparently wouldn't deter Rahm.
Is Rolapp Shutting the Door?
But here's the catch: Brian Rolapp, the CEO of the PGA Tour, has already made it clear that Koepka's deal was a unique offer and the Tour does not intend to repeat such a model. This makes Rahm's path back to soaring on the green extremely complicated. Should the deal with the PGA Tour fall through, Rahm initially plans to compete on the DP World Tour. It remains to be seen if the Spaniard can still soften the hearts of the PGA Tour bosses.
