Rahm Breathes a Sigh of Relief: Victory at LIV Golf Hong Kong

Folks, it's happened! Jon Rahm has claimed victory at the LIV Golf event in Hong Kong and is visibly breathing a sigh of relief! A sensational final round of 64 strokes was enough to secure the title with a three-stroke lead.

The 31-year-old Spaniard, a two-time major champion, hadn't recorded a win since LIV Golf Chicago 2024. After a series of four consecutive second-place finishes on the Saudi-backed tour, this triumph was more than overdue for the golf maestro.

“Very relieved, just happy I could enjoy the walk down 18,” Rahm stated at the Hong Kong Golf Club. In the end, a solid 23-under stood on his scorecard – truly impressive! Thomas Detry from Belgium had to settle for 2nd place.

“I played really well all day,” Rahm summarized, who delivered an impressive final round on the Fanling course: Eight birdies against just two bogeys – things certainly went his way.

By the way, it was Rahm’s third LIV victory – and yet the Spaniard still saw potential! “Even though I shot six under par, what else could have been in there with a couple of missed short putts and an errant shot on 18?” he mused. “It was incredible. But I just tried to be very patient and commit fully to every shot, knowing that I was doing everything right and things would happen.” This mantra, Rahm said, had essentially been his motto all week. Sounds like a Zen master, doesn't it?

And speaking of Thomas Detry, the Belgian in 2nd place: The fact that he could even be on the tee in Hong Kong is thanks to Jon Rahm! The Spaniard quickly arranged a private jet to fly Detry and other LIV players in from the Middle East. What a service from the Rahm-Express!
