PGA Tour: Good Good Golf Out After Ad Scandal

A single clip that caused a stir online has cost Good Good Golf its title sponsorship role for the new PGA Tour Fall event in Austin. Following massive criticism of an advertisement that seemingly depicted violence against women, the rising golf brand is withdrawing from the partnership. While the tournament is still planned to take place as scheduled, the search for a new title sponsor is in full swing – and this just a few months before the tee-off.

The Controversial Clip and Its Consequences

The controversial point was a recently published, now deleted, advertising clip. In it, Good Good Co-Founder Garrett Clark was shown pushing a woman to the ground who was reaching for a Callaway driver. Reactions to this depiction were devastating, triggering a firestorm of criticism that led to far-reaching consequences. Not only did Good Good Golf publicly apologize and announce its withdrawal from the Austin event – Callaway also pulled the plug this week, immediately ending its collaboration with Good Good.

PGA Tour in a Predicament

The planned event, scheduled for November 12-15, 2026, at the luxurious Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, has thus fallen into a precarious situation. The PGA Tour confirmed that it was informed of Good Good's decision and remains committed to an inclusive environment. According to PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, the situation is "fluid," meaning there's significant movement and quick action is required. Time is ticking, as without a title sponsor, the pressure on the new fall event could become immense.

The controversy surrounding the advertisement has thus escalated into a tangible problem for the PGA Tour. It's no longer just about a social media gaffe, but a massive shift in the sponsorship of a major tournament. The search for an adequate replacement is in full swing to save the event, which was originally intended to be a highlight of the fall calendar.
