Pebble Beach: Morikawa Triumphs Over Scheffler!

Collin Morikawa Triumphs at Pebble Beach Pro-Am: Baby News and Scheffler's Stellar Round!

Pebble Beach, Feb 15, 2026 – Collin Morikawa has claimed victory at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California! And it was no walk in the park, folks. On Sunday, he had to fend off a fierce comeback bid from top golfer Scottie Scheffler, who managed to rack up three eagles.

Two-time major champion Morikawa hadn't secured a win on the PGA Tour since 2023 but had started Sunday tied for second place. Under truly blustery conditions, he then conjured up a birdie on the final hole, securing the triumph by one shot at 22 under par.

"This is special for many reasons," beamed Morikawa, who conveniently used the victory as a platform to announce that he and his wife are expecting their first child. What a move! "We just started telling people this week, and we thought, 'Is there a better way to tell the world than to come out here and win?'" – Hats off, Collin!

Back in his home state, where he was born and raised, Morikawa pulled away from a crowded leaderboard in the final holes. A superb 30-foot putt for birdie on the 15th, followed directly by another birdie on the 16th – it was clear: The kid was hot!

But then things suddenly got serious: The originally benign conditions shifted to tricky gusts in the final hour. Morikawa hooked his tee shot on the 17th and had to settle for a bogey from the ocean-side rough. Phew!

What felt like an eternity – 20 agonizing minutes – he then had to wait on the 18th fairway because Jacob Bridgeman from the group ahead of him hit a ball from the beach that ricocheted off a cliff and disappeared straight back into the ocean. Golf can be so brutal!

But the birdie on the 18th sealed the deal: Morikawa claimed the narrow victory by just one shot ahead of Australia's Min Woo Lee and Austria's Sepp Straka. Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood finished one shot further back.

"I tried to look at the ocean as often as possible. I love being out here," Morikawa commented on the forced break. "Pebble Beach... not many places in the world can top this course."

Min Woo Lee – who was chasing his second PGA Tour victory after his maiden win last March in Houston – posted a round of 65, capping it off with birdies on the final two holes. Seriously impressive! A stark contrast to Saturday, when the 27-year-old botched the last two holes with bogeys and dramatically launched his ball into the Pacific in pure frustration. #Mood

However, the world number one, Scottie Scheffler, delivered the absolute best round of the day. He had started Sunday eight shots back in a tie for 22nd place and then launched an extraordinary charge! The man was
