Nelly Korda Rocks the Tour: Second Win in Two Weeks!

Folks, what's happening on the LPGA Tour? Nelly Korda is simply unstoppable! The World No. 1 claims her second victory in just two weeks at the Riviera Maya Open in Mexico. This marks her 18th career triumph and once again a phenomenal round that leaves us all in awe.

Historic Performance

The 27-year-old American is currently performing as if there's no tomorrow. With her sixth top-two finish in as many events this season, she's emulating the sensational start of Swedish legend Annika Sorenstam from 2001. This is not only her third victory this year, but a true statement on the green. After her third major title last week at the Chevron Championship, she follows up immediately – truly impressive!

Korda closed out the final round on Sunday with a three-under par 69, securing the win with an incredible 17-under 271. This gave her a commanding four-stroke lead at El Camaleon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She also shattered the tournament's previous 72-hole record of 12-under. Simply incredible!

“I'm just enjoying it and loving the competition,” Korda said when asked if she was playing the best golf of her career right now. “I love traveling to places like Mexico, all over the world, and I'm just having fun. We always put in the exact same amount of work, and you never know. That's golf.”

Dramatic Finish and Impressive Consistency

Thailand's Arpichaya Yubol finished in second place with a round of 70 and a total of 275 strokes. China's Liu Yu secured third place with 276, followed by American Brianna Do in fourth (278) and Colombian amateur Maria Jose Marin in fifth (280).

Korda carded only two bogeys all week – and one of them actually came on the very last hole. Her tee shot went astray, landing in the bunker, but even then, she battled through with a long bogey putt to seal the triumph.

“Golf humbled me on the last hole,” Korda admitted. “I had a pretty smooth day, and then on the last hole, it brings you back down to earth a little.”

Despite this minor blemish, it remains an incredible start to the year for Nelly. In addition to the Riviera Maya Open, she also triumphed at the season-opening LPGA Tournament of Champions and the Chevron Championship. In March, she finished runner-up at the LPGA Founders Cup and the Ford Championship, and also last month at the Aramco Championship.

She showcased her full skill by eagling the par-five fifth hole, immediately followed by birdies on the sixth and the par-five seventh. This catapulted her to 18-under par and extended her lead to six strokes.

“You put in the work, and sometimes it pays off,” Korda concluded. “I'm just grateful that I have a fantastic
