Michelle Wie West: U.S. Women's Open – 2 Starts!

Folks, buckle up! A true icon is once again gracing the greens of the LPGA Tour. Michelle Wie West, the grand dame of golf, is back – albeit for a brief, but all the more epic appearance. But beware, this isn't a classic comeback, as she herself emphasizes.

The former U.S. Women's Open champion will be swinging a club again in May. She will be teeing it up as the tournament host for the Mizuho Americas Open (May 7-10, 2026) and will be using a sponsor exemption for it. But that's just the dress rehearsal for the real showstopper, as her true goal is a final appearance at the U.S. Women's Open at the legendary Riviera Country Club. What an incredible round we have to look forward to!

Farewell Tour or More?

The Mizuho Americas Open, where LPGA stars are paired with elite juniors, offers Wie West a perfect opportunity to get back into her game. During her maternity leave, she famously took a break from the Tour. Her sole, clear goal for this mini-return? To hit the greens at a Major one last time and show what she's still capable of. This isn't a full season, but rather a targeted mission.

Don't call it a comeback! Michelle Wie West will become a playing host for the first time next month at the Mizuho Americas Open. The 36-year-old mother of two announced her intention to compete on a sponsor invitation while at the event’s media day at Mountain Ridge Country

The Wie West Magic is Back

There are no updates on injuries or her world ranking – which fits her semi-retired role. But honestly, who needs ranking points when the legend herself is teeing off? The golf world is excited to see how Wie West will perform on the course. Her focus is on a sporting farewell on the grand stage. We're looking forward to her delivering a truly strong performance one more time!
