Michelle Wie West: Final Major U.S. Women's Open

The golf world is buzzing, folks! A true legend is returning to the big stage – and we're not talking about just any ordinary comeback. Michelle Wie West, the 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion, is ending her three-year golf break to once again face the ultimate challenge in 2026. It's going to be a spectacle, we promise!

The 34-year-old Wie West, who boasts five LPGA Tour victories and is also a mother of two, had actually hung up her clubs in 2023 after the U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach. But anyone who knows her understands: she can't quite stay away from golf. After all, even back then, she said 'never say never.' And now it's official: the icon is back!

A Final Dance on Hallowed Ground

The decisive factor for her comeback is the ten-year exemption she earned through her 2014 triumph. She is now using this for the 2026 U.S. Women's Open at the legendary Riviera Country Club (June 4-7). Michelle herself announced the news yesterday evening at 6:35 PM ET (12:35 AM CET on April 1) on Instagram. It's clear to her: this will be her absolute final major tournament before she truly retires for good. Emotions are sure to run high!
