Michael Block: DQ Scandal! This is what he says about his exit.

Michael Block was disqualified at the 2026 Staysure PGA Seniors Championship – and the end of his round had more drama than a Hollywood script. The man who captivated the golf world at the 2023 PGA Championship started in Scotland with a sponsor's exemption. After rounds of 76-73-78, it was clear he wouldn't contend for the title, but then came the final day and the Block-buster took a bizarre turn.

The start was anything but optimal: Block, who celebrated his 50th birthday this year, arrived late for his tee time and promptly received a two-stroke penalty. Later, he left the course mid-round – and a stark "DQ" appeared on the leaderboard instead of a usual "WD".

Chaos on the Green

Rumors immediately swirled: Had the Block Party pro frustratedly abandoned the course, annoyed by the conditions? Michael Block himself puts an end to these speculations. He stated he withdrew due to a wrist injury, not out of anger with the course. He claims he informed his playing partners, caddies, and spectators.

Michael Block says his DQ from the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship was due to a wrist injury and the suggestion he was upset with course conditions "is absurd." Read more: https://t.co/rULhAJMuXh

A Misunderstanding with Consequences

The problem? He allegedly accepted a ride back to the clubhouse from a non-official person. For tournament officials, this was enough to turn the planned "withdrawal" into a harsh disqualification. Meanwhile, Darren Fichardt calmly claimed the victory. Things sometimes go differently on the course for Michael Block, but he's still great at making headlines.
