McIlroy's Lightning Start: Ties Clark at BMW Champ.

Rory McIlroy nearly turned the BMW Championship in St. Louis on its head! Despite starting the final round a full five shots behind, he swiftly caught Wyndham Clark on the greens – a performance that thrilled golf fans and propelled him to 14 under par.

After 54 holes, Clark appeared to be comfortably leading at an impressive 17 under par. However, McIlroy, who stood at 12 under par in the final pairing after a sensational round of 65 on Saturday, was on fire and ready to apply pressure. The stage was set for an epic duel – and it delivered, though no one anticipated Clark's early misstep.

Rory's Turbo Start: A Birdie for the History Books

From the very first tee shot, Rory kicked off with a birdie, while Clark took a bogey on the same hole. That was the wake-up call, the game-changer! McIlroy shifted into a higher gear, went on a tear on the front nine, and steadily chipped away at the lead. By the eleventh hole, he had finally achieved his goal: a share of the lead at 14 under par. The PGA TOUR titled it as “co-leads in St. Louis” and NUCLR GOLF celebrated him as #COLEADER.

The Epic Duel with an Unpredictable Outcome

What a sensational round, what a nail-biting thriller, as Rory closed the gap and the golf world held its breath! The moment he drew even with Clark was pure drama, captivating fans worldwide. Despite this incredible surge, the comeback unfortunately didn't last to the bitter end. Wyndham Clark ultimately displayed nerves of steel and secured victory at the 2026 BMW Championship, while McIlroy's spectacular charge in the final holes ultimately faltered. A wild tournament that once again demonstrated why Rory is one of the all-time greats.
