Max Homa makes a U-turn! Coach Blackburn is back on board! Big news on Tour, folks! Max Homa, who has thrilled us so often with his shots, is returning to his roots. Over a year after their separation, it's official: Homa and his swing coach Mark Blackburn are working together again! Remember this? Before the 2024 Presidents Cup, which took place in September at Royal Montreal, it was over. The man with six PGA Tour wins to his name had a season to forget. Only 3 top-10 finishes in 21 starts – things really got intense on the greens, but unfortunately not in a positive way. To get his slump under control, Homa then turned to John Scott Rattan. But the hoped-for turnaround? No dice! At the beginning of 2025, still at a respectable 40th place in the World Ranking, he plummeted to 127th place after his last tournament with Rattan – the Baycurrent Classic. A painful freefall! Even in 2025, before this latest coaching split, things weren't quite right. Homa had just one top-10 finish to show for it: a 5th place at the John Deere Classic. But attention, golfers! Since splitting with Rattan, there's already been a first glimmer of hope: In his start at the Bank of Utah Championship, he immediately secured a T9. Is this already proof that the old coaching path is the right one? We're excited to see if Max Homa can return to his old strength with Mark Blackburn and rock the PGA Tour! That's going to be an epic comeback, I'm sure of it!
